The inaugural MidAmerica Healthcare Symposium was held on March 27th, 2026, at HCA Healthcare Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Residents and fellows from all MidAmerica residency/fellowship programs were represented and in attendance, along with faculty, attendings and GME/hospital administrators. Kimberly Swan MD, MBA (MidAmerica DIO) was the clinical director of the symposium. The keynote speaker was Hali Baker, MSN, APRN-CNP, TCRN, who is a Pediatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner and Quality Lead for the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, OH.
