Submissions for the art contest are now closed. Any submissions received after June 30, 2024 will not be accepted.
The HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine and HCA Healthcare Nursing Excellence (NEx) Department are sponsoring an art contest for all HCA Healthcare nurses. We encourage the artistic endeavors of our colleagues, and this contest is a celebration of your creativity.
Your submissions will be judged by a panel of your peers. Your work could be eligible to be the cover of a special issue of the HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine entitled ‘Nursing-Sensitive Indicators’.
Submissions should be original works of visual art: painting, photography, sculpture, or other static visual media. We are limiting works to human-created arts, no AI-generated work please. Remember that images cannot contain personally identifying information. So, no photos of people if their faces can be easily recognized.
Artists must also submit a statement of no more than 250 words that explains their work. It could explain how the work relates to medicine or how the practice of their art is a strategy to maintain wellness.
