Aims & Scope

The HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine is a bi-monthly journal aimed at publishing research and educational materials that provide practical clinical care information or impact evidence-based medicine. The journal is open-access and does not charge subscription fees or author processing fees.

The journal is sponsored by HCA Healthcare Graduate Medical Education, in an effort to aid early-career physicians and those providing education for our future medical providers. Authors can receive ACGME scholarly credit for publishing an article with the journal.

The journal is currently accepting original research, literature and systematic reviews, quality improvement and patient safety studies, and case reports. A humanities section is also available for prose, poetry, art, and music. Letters to the editor are considered for those wishing to comment on articles published in the journal.

Articles submitted to the journal should provide clear practical information applicable to clinical practice or evidence-based medicine.

Each issue will follow the outline below:

News & Editorial

The editorial section includes information from our editorial team as well as news, letters, and invited commentary.

Humanities

The journal also has a humanities section for our colleagues to share their artistic pursuits and narrative medicine essays. Submissions are open to any medium from photography and painting to music and video.
